A. R. Levett is an emerging Western Australian writer who has been short-listed for several awards, including the 2016 Glen Phillips Poetry Prize. He writes poetry, short-stories, novel-length fiction, and screenplays. He is a versitile writer and his work spans myriad genres, from literary fiction to fantasy-fiction.
He has experience assessing and editing manuscripts, facilitating writing groups, and lecturing at universities. He has a Bachelor of Writing and first-class Bachelor of Communications (Honours). He is currently undertaking a PhD at Curtin University. Current Project
Currently he is writing his first fantasy-fiction novel, 'The Rebels', which is part of his PhD thesis: 'Naming the Unnameable: Confronting Trauma through Fantasy-Fiction Metaphors'.
WA Writing Community
A. R. Levett is very active in the Western Australian writing community. He currently serves as the facilitator of the Fantasy, Science-Fiction, and Horror writing group at the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers’ Centre (KSP), where he served as the Board of Management secretary from 2013–2014, and Board of Management member and Tuesday Writers' Circle facilitator from 2013–2015, and Events Committee member from 2016–2017.
He is a member of the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers' Centre, WA Poets, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. A. R. Levett judged the 2013 and 2014 Write-a-Book-in-a-Day writing competition. Contact
